				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As we discussed earlier that MH.net will go more and more FOSS so we are, but as Microsoft is offering free books &#8211; I personally would think that it&#8217;s a great offer and should be handled by us at MultiHow.net <img src='http://multihow.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>So without further fuzz about this and that &#8211; get your free Microsoft ebooks from their website <a href="http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mssmallbiz/archive/2012/07/27/large-collection-of-free-microsoft-ebooks-for-you-including-sharepoint-visual-studio-windows-phone-windows-8-office-365-office-2010-sql-server-2012-azure-and-more.aspx">@ msdn</a></p>

<p>&#8220;<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Throughout the year I try to share resources and information with you that I think will be helpful for you. Often times these resources will include links to free eBooks that we make available on a variety of topics. Today, I thought I would post a large collection of eBooks for you here so that you can find them in one place and consume them as you see fit. Also, if you find this list helpful, please share it with your peers and colleagues so that they too can benefit from these resources. </span>&#8221; &#8211; Eric Ligman.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As a owner of Kindle Touch I&#8217;ve come across to the facts that I want my pdf&#8217;s to be in a suitable format for my Kindle &#8211; so I searched the web for a free solution that I could download and use for free to manage my eBooks on my device and convert them in any kind of text format that I would like. <img class="alignleft" style="border: 10px solid white;" title="Calibre is the one stop solution." src="http://calibre-ebook.com/site_media//img/home-tag.png" alt="calibre-onestopsolution" width="306" height="116" />That&#8217;s when I found calibre eBook management system, if you&#8217;d ask me why this product is so great I would only answer with &#8211; FOSS &#8211; that&#8217;s right Free Open Source Software (as MultiHow is proudly moving towards free software only site). Well FOSS is great just because of the fact that if you don&#8217;t like something about this program you don&#8217;t need to wait for an update from a major company or what so ever &#8211; you can just simply download the source code and customize the program yourself &#8211; if you have the sufficient knowledge. Or perhaps contact the developer of this program and tell him or her your problem and maybe donate a bit to the project. But enough of the fuzz, lets cut to the chase &#8211; calibre lets you convert your file to so many formats &#8211; it&#8217;s quite simply insane!</p>
<p>calibre supports the conversion of many input formats to many output formats. It can convert every input format in the following list, to every output format.</p>
<p><em>Input Formats:</em> CBZ, CBR, CBC, CHM, DJVU, EPUB, FB2, HTML, HTMLZ, LIT, LRF, MOBI, ODT, PDF, PRC, PDB, PML, RB, RTF, SNB, TCR, TXT, TXTZ</p>
<p><em>Output Formats:</em> AZW3, EPUB, FB2, OEB, LIT, LRF, MOBI, HTMLZ, PDB, PML, RB, PDF, RTF, SNB, TCR, TXT, TXTZ.</p>
<p>And the freaky part about calibre is, that it has been out since 2006 &#8211; it is like 6 years by the time I am writing this article, that means that the program itself is going under a great amount of developing and they are constantly making it better.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re having second thoughts about it just watch the demo video:</p>
<p><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Xu_FgtM_Oqs" frameborder="0" width="420" height="315"></iframe></p>
<p>Now that you have seen how great it is &#8211; go ahead and donate + download and don&#8217;t worry about your eBook management ever again. Simple as that!</p>
<p>Download calibre here &#8211; <a href="http://calibre-ebook.com/download">http://calibre-ebook.com/download</a></p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>To keep your blog/homepage simple and elegant I&#8217;d recommend that you&#8217;d use third party webdesign &#8211; if you&#8217;re not a web designer yourself, so you could design your own page, go with the ones that other designers have made and you will save some brain cells along the way.</p>
<p>To be honest &#8211; there are so many WordPress designers out there that it is simply hard to browse them through yourself &#8211; that&#8217;s why guys like us @ MultiHow.net come in handy &#8211; we can watch those themes for you and do the pre-work ourselves.</p>
<p>Here is my top 5 list on WooThemes:</p>
<h3><a title="FlipFlop theme" href="http://zfer.us/ECKDu?d=http://www.woothemes.com/2012/06/flipflop/" target="_blank">5) Flipflop</a></h3>
<div id="theme-title">
<p><a href="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/5.jpg"><img class="alignright wp-image-1249" style="border: 5px solid white;" title="5" src="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/5-300x194.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="155" /></a>Flipflop is a responsive, ultra-readable theme geared around news publishers. With impressive column generator functionality for posts and pages, clean, large typography, a modular homepage that can be re-arranged thanks to widget components &amp; a featured slider Flipflop has all the tools to customize this theme for whatever niche.</p>
<p>It is a clean and simple theme that could be easily modified to fit your needs &#8211; but the lack of design got it to the fifth place.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[</p>
<p>  var zfBaseURL=(("https:"==document.location.protocol)
                 ? "https://woothemes.zferral.com/mjs/35/32798"
                 : "http://woothemes.zferral.com/mjs/35/32798");
  document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src=" + zfBaseURL
  + " type=\"text/javascript\"%3E%3C/script%3E"));
// ]]&gt;</script></p>
<noscript><a href="http://woothemes.zferral.com/l/35/32798" title=""><img src="http://woothemes.zferral.com/m/35" alt="" title="" style="border: none" /></a></noscript>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><a href="http://zfer.us/ECKDu?d=http://www.woothemes.com/2012/04/merchant/" target="_blank">4) Merchant</a></h3>
<p><a href="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/4.jpg"><img class="alignright wp-image-1250" style="border: 5px solid white;" title="4" src="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/4-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="158" /></a>Merchant is a responsive portfolio, personal or business theme with a homepage that is truly flexible thanks to the Woo Component widgets. With JS Masonry, some advanced layout controls to set the site width and a header that can be fixed or floated next to the site you can really have some fun customizing it.</p>
<p>This one kinda suits better for my needs and the look seems more beautiful to me as the others. See for yourself.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>&nbsp;</h3>
<h3><a href="http://zfer.us/ECKDu?d=http://www.woothemes.com/2011/12/olya/" target="_blank">3) Olya</a></h3>
<p><a href="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/3.jpg"><img class="alignright wp-image-1251" style="border: 5px solid white;" title="3" src="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/3-300x198.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="158" /></a>Olya is a colorful, versatile business portfolio theme, all the while its layout being completely responsive. It is packaged with an informative homepage template with loads of optional modules, as well as a custom team archive and contact page. A portfolio section is available to highlight noteworthy work.</p>
<p>I really love the personalization on this one. <img src='http://multihow.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><a href="http://zfer.us/ECKDu?d=http://www.woothemes.com/2011/09/buro/" target="_blank">2) Buro</a></h3>
<p><a href="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/2.jpg"><img class="alignright wp-image-1252" style="border: 5px solid white;" title="2" src="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/2-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="158" /></a>Buro is a beautiful business theme designed by Juanma Teixido with a responsive layout to display your website content optimally at all resolutions and browser widths, and on all media devices. A perfectly responsive building block for a web designer’s next project.</p>
<p>Buro is one of the most beautiful, yet simple wordpress themes I&#8217;ve ever seen. Have a look &#8211; and I dare you to think that it is not beautiful.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h1>Drum roll please &#8230;.</h1>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>So here is my selection for the first place holder &#8211; <strong>WooStore</strong>!!!</p>
<h2><a href="http://zfer.us/ECKDu?d=http://www.woothemes.com/2011/09/woostore/" target="_blank">1) WooStore</a></h2>
<p>WooStore reminds me of Apple website so much and it as well is clean and simple &#8211; yet powerful!</p>
<p>WooStore is a landmark for WooThemes, our first eCommerce theme for WordPress. Designed in-house by Magnus Jepson and brought to life with WooCommerce, WooStore provides you with a powerful and flexible eCommerce solution.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter  wp-image-1253" title="1" src="http://multihow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/1-1024x779.jpg" alt="" width="717" height="545" /></a></p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>VideoLAN Movie Creator is a non-linear editing software for video creation based on libVLC and running on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X! It is a free software distributed under the terms of the GPL v2. The VideoLAN team has done it again &#8211; created useful, yet needed open source program that is free! I had a chat with VLC developers in Akademy 2012 that was held in Tallinn &#8211; and they really enjoy bringing the best software out there for people like us.</p>
<p>So what you will get if you download VideoLAN Movie Creator?</p>
<p>Cross Platform program</p>
<p>Based on VLC</p>
<p>Read most file formats and can export to most formats</p>
<p>YouTube upload integration</p>
<p>Simple to use, yet powerful</p>
<p>Interested? I know I am! If you would like to see more &#8211; here are some screenshots of the program itself:</p>
<div><a href="http://images1.videolan.org/vlmc/screenshots/snapshot2.png"><img style="border: 5px solid white;" src="http://images1.videolan.org/vlmc/screenshots/tm_snapshot2.png" alt="VLMC - Screenshot" width="90" height="70" /></a><a href="http://images1.videolan.org/vlmc/screenshots/snapshot10.png"><img style="border: 5px solid white;" src="http://images1.videolan.org/vlmc/screenshots/tm_snapshot10.png" alt="VLMC - Screenshot" width="90" height="70" /></a><a href="http://images1.videolan.org/vlmc/screenshots/snapshot12.png"><img style="border: 5px solid white;" src="http://images1.videolan.org/vlmc/screenshots/tm_snapshot12.png" alt="VLMC - Screenshot" width="90" height="70" /></a><a href="http://images1.videolan.org/vlmc/screenshots/snapshot2.png"><img style="border: 5px solid white;" src="http://images1.videolan.org/vlmc/screenshots/tm_snapshot2.png" alt="VLMC - Screenshot" width="90" height="70" /></a></div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>And of course you can download it free. Although you have to download it with Git.</div>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Every once in a while you might need to search a folder or a file that you or the previous owner of the server/computer has put somewhere &#8211; and on command line interface it could be a serious hassle to do that just by browsing through the folders and files.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why&nbsp; it&#8217;s more convenient to use &#8220;locate&#8221; command on the CLI.</p>
<p>Command should looks something like that:</p>
<p><!--DEVFMTCODE--><pre class="devcodeblock" title="Bash"><div class="devcodeoverflow"><ol><li><span style="color: #c20cb9; font-weight: bold;">locate</span> filename.something</li></ol></div></pre><!--END_DEVFMTCODE--></p>
<p>In some cases there might be something you want to add to the query just to narrow down the search &#8211; then you should use the grep command. Grep is a command-line utility for searching plain-text data sets for lines matching a regular expression. Grep was originally developed for the Unix operating system, but is available today for all Unix-like systems. Its name comes from the ed command g/re/p (global / regular expression / print).</p>
<p>For example lets find a .jpg image called nature:</p>
<p><!--DEVFMTCODE--><pre class="devcodeblock" title="Bash"><div class="devcodeoverflow"><ol><li><span style="color: #c20cb9; font-weight: bold;">locate</span> nature <span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">|</span><span style="color: #c20cb9; font-weight: bold;">grep</span> .jpg</li></ol></div></pre><!--END_DEVFMTCODE--></p>
<p>It will narrow down the search query and will give you more accurate answers.</p>
